BE INTENTIONAL

A message from the desk of Roy Lessin (Co-Founder of Blessed Day Cards)

The other day I had a grocery order delivered to our house. A woman brought the order to our door. Before she left, I handed her the Stand Up Card, “Your Father”. She looked at it, smiled, and said, “Thank you. Have a blessed day.” I replied, you too!”

Today, as I reflected upon those few moments with the delivery lady, the following thoughts came to mind:

• How appreciative she was to receive what I gave her.

• The experienced happened because I was being intentional.

“Intentional” is a word the Lord has often brought to mind over the past few months.

I believe it’s an important word for each of us. I don’t see it as a legalistic word, a condemning word, or a bondage word, but as an opportunity word.

Here is what I mean…

Before the delivery lady showed up at my house,

• I had intentionally placed a bowl by my front door that contained a variety of our Stand Up Cards. As she was gathering the groceries from her card,

• I was intentionally asking the Lord which card to give her.

• Before she left, I intentionally handed her the card and said, “This is for you.”

Let me also add that being intentional is not “a rule”. I believe everything we do should be Spirit led.

I don’t give a Stand Up Card to everyone who comes to my door. However, I do see it as an opportunity to bless someone’s day and because I do, I am intentional about it.

I’d like to encourage each of you to be intentional about blessing someone in your day.
