When Trust Is Broken… God Can Restore It

Inspired by Trust is a Must

For some, trust comes naturally.

For others, trust feels like the hardest thing in the world.

When you grow up in a chaotic and dysfunctional environment, trust can be shattered before you even understand what trust is. Broken promises teach you not to believe words. Anger, arguments, and inconsistency create a home where you learn to walk carefully, measuring every word, reading every mood, trying not to do the wrong thing, never knowing what might trigger a negative response.

You learn to stay small.

You learn to keep the peace.

You learn to carry fear and shame like invisible baggage.

That was part of my story.

Growing up, trust was often broken. I lived cautiously, trying to avoid conflict, trying to make everything okay, trying to earn approval, trying not to disappoint. And those patterns followed me into adulthood.

I struggled with insecurity.
I became a people-pleaser.
I wrestled with anxiety.
I tried to control things because control felt safer than uncertainty.

But deep down, those things were exhausting. They were heavy burdens I was never meant to carry.

Then Jesus changed everything.

When I gave my life fully to Christ and began studying His Word—not casually, but deeply—something beautiful began to happen. As I listened to the Holy Spirit and chose obedience, God began healing places in my heart that had been wounded for years.

He taught me who I really am.

Not what fear told me.
Not what shame whispered to me.
Not what my past tried to define me as.

But who He says I am:

His daughter.
Redeemed.
Loved.
Chosen.
Made new.

Little by little, He gave me victory over insecurity. He loosened anxiety’s grip. He replaced fear with peace. He healed trauma I thought I would carry forever.

And He taught me something life-changing:

When you truly know God—you love Him.
And when you know His heart—you trust Him.

Even when prayers feel unanswered.
Even when the path feels uncertain.
Even when your heart feels heavy.

That’s where trust begins—not in having all the answers, but in resting in the One who does.

Trust is a Must by Roy Lessin is a beautiful reminder of this truth: God is always faithful—even when we cannot see the full picture.

If your heart needs peace, reassurance, or renewed confidence in God’s promises, this message speaks deeply.

And it makes a meaningful gift—for a graduate stepping into a new season, for a mother carrying much in her heart, or for anyone who simply needs encouragement to trust God more fully.

Because trust isn’t about having all the answers…

It’s about resting in the One who does.
